Hi lovebugs! Today I am sharing my updated apartment decor. As some of you already know, Surge and I moved into a 2 bedroom apartment about 5 months ago. We didn’t have a dining area and our place is a little bigger then our last one. I love decorating and making our space feel comfortable and homie. I’ll be sharing tips on how to thrift shop as well. Most of my items on my gold shelf are from thrift stores.

Let’s start with the dining area. I am obsessed with anything marble so I had to get this table. The size is 54″ and I’ve received so many questions about it so I linked it above. Just click on the photo to shop! I found a marble flower vase to match the table and yes, I love a fresh pop of color with flowers because it brightens up the room. For the rug I went with an animal print because I loved the brown and white colors in it and how simple it looks. I feel like the rug completed my space because without it, it felt so naked. I went with these wishbone chairs and decided to add white faux fur throws over them. I left one bare because I wanted one of the chairs to stand out. I love how comfortable these chairs are and the fur makes them even cozier! The rack I bought from IKEA it was originally white. I repainted it gold and I absolutely love this piece. As for the decor on the rack, I will add a little more info on that down below.

Paintings are a favorite of mine when it comes to decorating a house/apartment. I love this piece by OliverGal.com and how it brightens up the room. It also went so well with all the colors I chose to decorate with.
Plants also add a beautiful touch to home decor. I got this one at IKEA ||HERE|| and I love this basket that I got for it ||HERE|| It makes any corner in a room stand out. I love fake plants as well because I don’t have to deal with watering them. Although I do have one real plant and so far it’s still alive. Let’s see how long that will last, lol!
This is the real plant I am talking about and his name is Jimmy. Ive had him for 4 days now so let’s keep it up!
SHOP THE LIVING ROOM

For the living room I went with a fun rug and decided to layer it with a white fur rug. This fur I bought at Costco and it’s $100. It’s perfect for layering and Costco only carries it in the Fall and it’s a once a year kinda of a thing. So if you do want one, head over to your nearest Costco. They carry them in a black and a grey color also. I love this gold/glass coffee table and it goes with all the gold accents I have in my home. I am waiting on the Anthropologie floor mirror that I will also be adding by the couch. I love mirrors and I feel like it will open up the space a little more. For coffee table decor, find fun fashion books, cook books or any books that catch your eye. Little plants are also a great idea to add to the table. Target has a great variety of fake plants that would be perfect for coffee table decor. Oh, and don’t forget candles. I purchase mine at Anthropologie because they smell like heaven!
I have a coffee bar because I love my coffee and down below is a little wine bar area. Find a cute tray, mugs and just fun pieces like this pineapple and just make it fun and sort of like a decoration as well because this bar cart should be a decor piece as well as making you happy because of course coffee. LOL! And yes I added a small plant on the side because it just made everything look better!
My husband and I chose to go with a leather couch because it’s the most comfortable. I also love the style and how fun it looks by adding some pillows and a blanket.
Now let’s add some fun and unique pieces to your rack. If it’s in your dining area, try to stick with a few colors when decorating. As you can see I went with green, white, black, tan and brown. All of the colors went well with everything in our home from the chairs, table, and curtains. The pops of green were added because I wanted a little more color. Find a couple of thrift stores near you. If you’re in Denver, I love ARC Thrift because I always seem to find unique pieces so I try to stop by every other week.
Here are some things I look for when thrifting and shopping for decor.
Tip 1: Find glasses that are unique, such as these green ones. I love the color and the way they brightened up my dining area.
Tip 2: Find straw baskets. As you can see on the bottom shelf, I added one on top of the other to made it look like decor. I love how they kind of match my dining chairs.
Tip 3: Unique vases are a must! I love this striped one, the light pink from the top, and the one next to it had all the colors I was looking for. In the pink vase I added green fake leaves that I purchased from IKEA.
Tip 4: Find unique and beautiful plates. I found these white ones with a gold trim and added 2 small books underneath them when styling.
Tip 5: Mirrors, pictures and plants are also perfect for decorating and making the rest of the decor come together.
Tip 6: I love the vintage camera I found. Photography is a fun hobby for me so it fits so well. I added a cute quote in a frame next to it. A picture would also go great. Then I added a globe to make it all come together.
Tip 7: Towards the bottom I added my favorite magazines in a book holder. It makes for a perfect decoration. Overall, find pieces that speak to you or things that you love. Incorporate those items into each corner of the shelves.
I am in love with this corner of my home! I hope these tips help you in finding those prefect items you find to decorate with as well.
That’s all folks! I love sharing ways to decorate and hope this gave you some inspiration when trying to decorate or redecorate your space!
Thank you for reading babes!
