Happy Wednesday darlings! Today I’m sharing with you all about my skin journey. Ok, where do I even begin? When I found out I was pregnant, my first and a little of my second trimester I began to breakout like crazy. Then I found out I am carrying twins and with my skin being sensitive and my hormones all over the place it made sense. If you scroll down below you will see before and after photos of my progress. I have never broken out so much in life. My skin has always been clear growing up and I never really took care of it because I really had no need to. I never believed when people would say that as you age, the more you need to care of your face. This is not only to keep looking young but to remove all the pores and impurities we have on our face.
It hit me hard when I got pregnant so I started doing research about seeing an esthetician. I came across Nurse Danielle Mathers and heard nothing but amazing things about her work. Danielle is an aesthetic nurse over at The Luxe Room located in Cherry Creek. I immediately reached out to her and told her I was pregnant and what she can do for me. I have really dry skin with a little bit of redness. Any product I have tried would break me out. She told me to come in and reviewed my skin. She took notes and told me it’d be best to go with the HydraFacial because that was the safest while pregnant. She took the time to tell me everything about it and how it would help me. I started seeing her once a month and my skin started clearing up. I found products that also have been helping my skin with the redness and dryness that I will link down below. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Danielle I don’t know how my skin would look like today. I am so pleased with her work and she is the sweetest soul. She takes the time to make your skin look and feel amazing.
I have some info on the HydraFacial and if your pregnant and experiencing the same thing, be sure to book her and giver her a try. You will not regret it!
She was targeting the dryness, redness & breakouts. Due to me being pregnant, she adjusted the suction down a bit (when you’re pregnant, the skin is more sensitive, so too much suction from the wand would break capillaries) & avoided any ingredients containing salicylic acid (BHA) or retinol. Hence, a pregnancy-safe HydraFacial! The main ingredients used on my skin were:-Activ-4–Antiox + –Dermabuilder
The benefits of the HydraFacial is that you can completely customize it to anyone’s skin. There are lots of treatment vials used throughout the facial that allow you to target anything from dry skin to oily skin, acne or aging (or both). It’s meant to be a 30 minute facial that is a massive and more gentle. It’s an upgrade from a traditional microdermabrasion. It’s an all-in-one system that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, & infuses the skin. It can also peel, but it’s very gentle and you can adjust the strength. Most of the ingredients used are meant to give an instant glow, or at least the next day, due to the antioxidant content, so there’s no downtime afterwards. You should generally see skin improvement within one treatment. It’s best to do a series of at least 3 treatments every 4 weeks to see more long-term benefits.

I hope this helped and you received some helpful information. Danielle was sweet enough to give away a free HydraFacial + LED to one lucky gal in Denver, so if you’re interested be sure to be on the lookout on my Instagram for a post by following the steps to enter later this afternoon.
Head down below to see what facial products I use morning and night that helped keep up my skin.
These products I use morning and night. Down below I will talk about each product and every step.
Step 1: Let’s start with the face wash. I use Josh Rosebrook and absolutely love it. Everything is so clean and makes my skin feel so good and so fresh. This helps with sensitive and dry skin.
Step 2: After I was my face with the cleanser above I use this Dickinson Witch Hazel Pore Cleansing Toner. The smell isn’t the greatest but I’ve tried so many toners and nothing beats this one. It’s so good for super sensitive skin. I take a cotton pad and apply the toner by wiping it all over my face. I do this about 2-3 times by getting new pads to clean off all the makeup my face wash didn’t get. When I see the lads clean, that’s when I know I have removed all the makeup.
Step 3: After I use the Witch Hazel toner, I use a few drops of this Herbivore Botanicals oil. I cannot tell you how much i love this product and cannot live without it. This oil helps so much with my dryness and keeps my skin smooth and moisturized. They have a few different types of oils in this brand depending on your skin type. Be sure to check them out. Yes, it’s on the pricey side but nothing helps my dryness as much as this stuff.
Step 4: After I use the oil I love applying this L’Oreal Collagen Facial Cream for added moisture to my skin. I love how affordable this product is and the ingredients are safe and clean.
Step 5: Every morning: I use these patches every morning 30 minutes before washing my face and putting on my makeup. This stuff refreshes my under eyes so I don’t look so tired. I love this stuff so much!
Ok, that’s all folk! These are all the products I use to keep up my facial until the next one. I really hope this helps one of you because finding products and an amazing esthetician aren’t always easy to find, but once you do it’s the best feeling seeing the improvement on your skin!
