Recently Surge and I had the pleasure of doing a fun little road trip to Durango, CO with Toyota #miliondollarhighway and all I can say is, it was the most beautiful road trip I’ve ever been on! Everything was stunning! All I wanted to do was enjoy and then stop to take photos of the beauty. I usually fall asleep on long road trips but this trip was a game changer for me. The trip was about 6 hours long so I danced, sang and enjoyed the view while cruising in our mini van.
Everyday we had a different car to experience all the fun cars Toyota had. The first day we explored in a mini van. It was so roomy and so comfortable and honestly, it drove pretty fast. I was impressed! Haha!
The second day we cruised on the Rav 4 and the seats on this car were so cute! The interior was stunning. Honestly, I love any car from Toyota. They are all gas efficient and super comfortable. We also got to drive a truck that Surge absolutely loved! Overall, we had the pleasure of driving in each of the vehicles because they are all great in their own way.
I am so sad I didn’t Vlog this trip because I forgot my go pro. But if you get a chance to visit Durango, Co be prepared to take photos because everything there is so stunning!
The weather was absolutely perfect while we were there. I hear that the Fall time is the best time to go visit this area. Down below I have added things we did, where we ate, and where you need to stay while visiting.
I just wanted to say thank you to Toyota for being so amazing and showing us such an amazing time! Also thank you for planning everything so perfectly for me to be able to share with you all!
We arrived Thursday night and checked into the Double Tree by Hilton hotel for the night. Then we headed out for dinner and met everyone that came on this trip. Later on we went to Derailed Pour House and mingled. We checked back into our hotel around 7 and didn’t stay out too late because we were tired from all the driving that day.
Friday we checked out of the hotel and had breakfast at this cute little cafe called Jean Pierre. It has the most amazing, mouth watering pastries! P.S. Your gonna die, they were that good! J/K I’m alive! I was just breathing so hard because every bite was mouth watering! lol
We went to a Gold Mine around 11am that was in Silverton, CO and the experience was so neat. Crazy story but it was completely sunny and within the hour it started snowing like crazy. Then once we were done with the tour, it was bright and sunny again. HAHA! So bipolar! This was such a cool experience to learn about all that the miners did back in those days.
We then had a little time to just explore and take photos. At around 3:00pm we headed to Telluride and checked into the Peaks Resort and Spa. I’m not even kidding you, this is the most charming hotel! This was a 5 star rated place for sure and I didn’t want to leave it! P.S. We had the golf view and I can’t begin to explain how beautiful the view was!
We headed back for dinner around 5:30pm to the most amazing place called Allred’s Restaurant . The view at this restaurant was to die for. Make sure to make a reservation if you plan to go because this place was so worth it. I had the salmon for dinner, which was delicious. Surge had steak and it was even more delicious. Oh, and save room for some ice cream! It’s that good! 🙂
Saturday we had breakfast at the hotel and then headed home. Of course it was so sad to leave. This was by far the best road trip I’ve taken! I suggest coming in the Fall to experience all these wonderful things. Our trip with Toyota was amazing!
I have received so many questions about what we did during our stay, so I hope this helps! PS: Rent a car with Toyota because the #milliondollarhighway will make your road trip go by faster, smoother and you won’t regret it! #letsgoplaces
