Today I wanted to share how frustrating it could be to pack for trips. For me, I am a clean freak and need everything organized so I have an outfit planned for everyday and then bring 3-4 extra just in case. HAHA! Am I the only one that does this?
Well if you’re like me, keep reading. I’ve teamed up with americantourister.com to show you how I pack and stay organized for an upcoming trip.
When I plan to take lengthier trips like this for work, I always take two bags. Before I book my trip I always make sure the airline I am flying with takes care of my bag, meaning I don’t have to pay for it. If I have to take my bags and it’s a short trip, I usually bring a carry on and I am set.
For the big white suit case, I will be packing all of my clothing, hats and accessories. My accessories are mostly earrings and sunglasses. I have a plastic box that I bring with me to keep them all in because you don’t want them tangled and all over the place. I will also pack shampoo and my random stuff in a plastic bag as well. I will always have a small straightener and never take my blowdryer because most hotels we stay at usually have one. It also helps not to over pack.
For my carry on suit case, I pack all of my shoes. If you’re like me and love bringing all your shoes along, a separate bag is a must. lol This also helps keep my clothing clean with my shoes separated and it doesn’t smell like feet. lol
I am probably over packing but for trips that involve my job and dressing up I always make sure I bring a little extra.
A few tips on how I know what to bring with shoes, accessories and so on:
Tip 1: I make sure I try on every outfit and style each look before I put it in the yes pile.
Tip 2: I start planning looks and what things I need to buy 2 weeks prior. I make sure to have a 2 day shipping or run over to the mall for last minute things.
Tip 3: Packing a day before that makes you think of what you’re forgetting and what else you need to bring.
Tip 4: HAVE A FABULOUS SUIT CASE!
The last tip is my favorite because staying organized for a trip is so helpful! When you have an awesome suit case that’s roomy and cute, it helps so much!
I hope this post helps you with packing on your next trip!
