Hello loves! In today’s post I’ll be sharing my recent lifestyles change in eating and working out. For a petite girl like me, it’s very hard to gain weight and gain muscle. It’s very important that you make sure to eat enough, especially while working out five days a week. I began by counting my Macros everyday. What are Macros? Macros basically tell you how much you should be eating whether it be carbs or protein. To do this, you need to get your body fat measured and once you have your results, meet with someone who can do all the work in this area for you. In my case, I had my trainer TJ at Crosffit Jai help me figure out how much I needed to eat. I was eating about 70g of protein a day and once he calculated everything and looked at my charts, I should had been taking in at least 100-110g of protein. I was like what!? It isn’t too much of a jump, but I did notice how life changing it has been for me since I’ve started counting my macros in the last two weeks. I am feeling more energized throughout the day and I see my body changing already. It’s so important to fuel your body with enough carbs and protein throughout the day. If you don’t, your weight can keep dropping like in my case. Once I started counting my Macros and taking in what I needed on the daily, my days have changed dramatically! I bought a scale at Target and measure my protein throughout the day to make sure I am eating enough. I am not using my scale as much anymore because I’m getting the hang of how much to eat. It can get annoying in the beginning to measure every time you eat, but once you figure it out it’s so easy!
Another way you can count how much protein and carbs you intake is with the app ‘My Fitness Pal.’ You just put in what you ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it basically shows you how many grams of protein and carbs you had, which is super helpful! I have been eating at least one carb a day and usually save that for dinner. I try to stick with a more healthy carb like sweet potatoes or brown rice. Also make sure your eating enough protein!
I have been loving this new lifestyle and want to share it with you all! If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask. It brings me joy sharing what I have learned and also learning from you babes!I have also put together a full body workout using only a kettle bell. You can watch that ||HERE|| I will be sharing more of these and if there’s anything you want to see, don’t hesitate to ask! I love sharing a few of my favorite CrossFit movements and incorporating them at home!
